Columbia PTA is part of a local, state, and national organization. By joining the Columbia PTA, you can vote on PTA business such as adopting the year's budget, bylaws, and electing nominating committee members and future officers. Your membership also gives our local PTA a vote on state and national issues.

Mary is returning for a third year serving the PTA. She has previously served as our Director of Programs. She has two incredible children, Charlotte and Oliver. She graduated from the University of Alabama with a Civil Engineering degree and works full-time. She looks forward to planning and executing more exciting events for our school.

Christine is new to the PTA Board this year. She has a longstanding connection to the school system, having attended Madison City Schools and worked at both Central Office and Liberty Middle School. She also brings experience from her previous role on the PTA Programs Committee. Christine is excited to serve her son's school and collaborate with the teachers, students, and parents at Columbia Elementary School!

Amy is returning to the PTA Board for a third year serving as Treasurer. She is married and has two kids. Her oldest is in 3rd grade at Columbia and her youngest just started Kindergarten! Amy works part time as an aerospace engineer and graduated from Auburn University. She is looking forward to helping out with all the exciting things planned at Columbia.

Tyra is a native of Birmingham, AL and moved to Madison in 2011 to get married. She and her husband, Brian, have three children ages 1 – 6. A former high school history teacher, Tyra has worked as a public-school educator for fifteen years. She believes all children deserve a high-quality education and enjoys working behind the scenes to support that mission. As the Director of Fundraising, Tyra plans to establish strong connections with local businesses and community partners to provide a sustainable form of incoming revenue for the Columbia ES PTA. She is a professional photographer and a family advocate through CANGD, the Center for Advancement of NextGen Deaf. Lindsey is looking forward to working with all the diverse students, parents, teachers, and staff that make up our amazing school and community.

This is Brittany's second year serving on the PTA Board as the Director of Publicity. Her 2 children are both currently students at Columbia, going into the 2nd and 4th grades. After graduating from Troy University, Brittany moved to Madison and is going on 15 years of working in federal contracting, supporting the US Army and our international partner countries. She enjoys spending time being creative, playing music, and having fun with her kids. Brittany is excited for the opportunity to be more involved in the students’ lives at Columbia and to be an advocate for their overall well-being.
