Columbia Parents,

We are so excited our Fun Run is almost here. The Boosterthon Team has done an excellent job of motivating our children and teaching them the importance of Fitness, Leadership, and Character. We need your help in these last few days. Please make sure your child has turned in their pledges either online at www.funrun.com or on their pledge sheet. Also we would like to invite you to attend the Fun Run to support your child in achieving their goal. The times of the runs will be listed below. Thank you for your support of the fundraiser and our school; the money raised will be used to help improve our school grounds. We look forward to seeing you at the Boosterthon Fun Run!

Boosterthon Kick-Off _POSTEDBY  lisaanderson

Dear Columbia Parents,

We are ready to kick this school year off with a bang! The Boosterthon Funrun is here at Columbia Elementary for another great year and we are super excited! This will be our biggest fundraiser of the year. The Boosterthon Funrun promotes fitness, leadership, and character with an overall focus on using teamwork to help our school.

We are so excited about the Boosterthon team being on our campus for two full weeks with a heart and passion to impact students! With your help, this could be the biggest fundraising effort our school has ever seen! We hope to see you at the Funrun on September 2nd. We want to see who will be the most enthusiastic and creative parents there!

Dear Parents and Supporters of Columbia,

It is difficult to express the honor and joy I am feeling in being the new Principal of Columbia Elementary. It is a privilege to be at the service of such an outstanding faculty and the wonderful parents and students that make up the community of Columbia. We have enjoyed great success under the leadership of Mr. James and will always be grateful for his dedicated service. We will continue to make every effort to provide an outstanding education for each child that we serve. Our staff is determined to provide the very best of our knowledge, skills, and abilities to the school’s community, and especially to our students.

Dear Columbia Family,

As most of you know I have accepted a new job as Safety and Communications Coordinator for Madison City Schools. Yesterday was my last official day as Columbia Elementary Principal. The board of education hired Nelson Brown as the new principal, and today he takes over as head of our team. The board has made an excellent choice. Mr. Brown is a wonderful educator who truly cares for each individual child. He understands our philosophy, and he was instrumental in building the partnerships we now enjoy. I am excited for Columbia’s future.

Greetings friends of Columbia Elementary!

It’s hard to believe another school year is here! I would like to update you regarding a few items of interest.

OPEN HOUSE is scheduled for tomorrow (Wednesday) night. Students with Developmental Delays (DD), kindergarten students, and second grade students will have open house from 5:00-5:30. First grade, third grade, and fourth grade will have open house from 6:00-6:30. Fifth and sixth grade students had their open house at the end of last year. Those students will receive their class schedule during home room on the first day of school. Fifth and sixth grade teachers will not be available at tomorrow night’s open house. If you are new to the area and have a fifth or sixth grade student I will be happy to set up a tour of the school for you and your child.
